Ian Symington Memorial Trophy

Thursday 22nd June saw the inaugural Ian Symington Memorial Trophy held at Aldeburgh Golf
Club. The match was between two teams playing foursomes stableford over 18 holes. One team
chosen by our RM, Mr Gary Smith, and one by our Captain, Mr Scott Clark.
The victor was decided by the highest aggregate points scored by each team.
The first winner of the Trophy was our Captain, Scott.
The day was bathed in sunshine, the course magnificent and the hospitality offered by David
and his team, exemplary.
Most of the day was filled with personal reminiscences of members' memories of time spent with
Ian, none more moving than from John Barnard who spent a great deal of time with Ian.
For all that attended it was a very special day paying respect to a very special gentleman.
